Taping the Blade and Tip

1. Tear off a piece of cloth tape (tip tape) approximately the length of a dollar bill. (~15cm)
2. Start one end of the tape on the barrel, but below and not covering the screws. The edge of the tape should align with the top edge of the blade.

3. Wrap the tape around the blade making sure that there are no air gaps or wrinkles (this is not critical, but desirable). The upper part of the barrel near the tip will not be covered with tape at this point.

4. Tear off a short length of tape, just long enough to wrap around the barrel. Tape around the barrel up to the end. Do not allow the tape to extend beyond the end of the barrel, as it will interfere with the sliding action of the tip. Do not use excess tape. Excess tape may get caught in the weight when the weapon is being tested at the strip.

5. Voila! The finished tip.
